Works: Evolution of Practice

Borucka’s practice has evolved through a progressive reduction of formless gesture and chromatic intensity toward structural containment and material concentration.

Early works such as The Blue emerged from direct immersive encounters, including free diving in the Aegean Sea, where texture, movement & colour functioned as embodied fields of perception.

With Paros Earth and the emergence of circular compositions, the practice shifted toward controlled systems and mineral presence. Marble dust, linen, harmonious geometry and embroidery replaced expressive colour.

This transition culminated in The Atomic Series, where matter is approached at a molecular scale. Here, the circle becomes a disciplined field in which elemental structures are articulated through marble dust and restrained surface intervention. The focus moves from landscape as embodied experience to landscape as composition of matter.

This movement reflects a deliberate reduction of chromatic distraction in favour of material concentration. The circle functions as structural containment. Variation occurs within restraint.

Across all series, the work investigates continuity between body, landscape and geological forms and time, compressing experience into durable, archival form.

The AtomiC Series (2023)

Delos (2020-2022)

Research-based body of work developed in dialogue with archival material from the archaeological excavations of Delos.
Large-scale compositions translate excavation fragments and ancient geometries into mineral-based abstraction.

Paros Earth (2019-2020)

The Blue (2014-2018)

The Painting Adelos-Delos Revealed 80x100cm, mixed-media (2015-2017 Private collection, Athens) was showcased in the article “My Private Odyssey” in the Polish magazine “Zwierciadło”.
